Athletics Northern Ireland
Athletics Northern Ireland is the governing body for the sport of Athletics in N.I.. They are responsible for promoting the sport, organising championship events and delivering athletic development programs.
Like many organisations they had built up quite a few separate databases of contacts all held within different Excel files. With many people appearing within multiple files these were getting harder to maintain so PRIMO:Solutions were asked to help.
- Analysis and Design
By analysing the existing data and looking at the common tasks performed within the organisation PRIMO:Solutions were able to identify ways to hold all of the information in an easily accessible manor and develop methods to streamline everyday tasks. - Development
The system was developed using JAVA and MySQL ensuring both a fast, robust and scalable application. - Data Cleansing
With several thousand existing contact details to process, we needed a methodical approach to consolidate all of the records into one data format before validating the data. The Athletics NI staff did a fantastic job working through this data and helping to ensure that only up to date information was loaded onto the new system. - Deployment
The new system has had a big impact on Athletics NI allowing them to concentrate less on administration and more on the promotion of the sport. This enabled them to offer a better service to the athletics community.
