Belfast City Marahton
The Belfast Marathon, Northern Ireland's largest sporting event, is held each May Day. The annual event consists of a Marathon, Team Relay competition, Walk, and Fun Run.
The Problem
The marathon team had an existing solution in place for taking online entries, but manually adding to the entry list and sending out confirmation letters was too time-consuming for the event staff.
The Solution
Implementing Primo Events Software completely automated the entire registration process. Customising the event registration software allowed the Belfast Marathon to quickly process marathons requests.
The Results
After launching its new automated online registration, the Marathon had its largest number of entries, exceeding its target of 20,000 participants.
The event was able to save money on postage by sending email communications and using Postcode Anywhere software. This made it easier for both competitors and administrators to enter contact information, and also improved the accuracy of the data entered.
The event system has now built up a database of thousands of contacts, which can be used to help promote future events.
